The collection is held in the An Gorta Mor – Great Hunger Room, and can be be used on site by scholars. To access the collection, Please consult the Room Policy. The book portion of the collection includes over 700 volumes on the actual famine period and others focusing
on peripheral issues that helped shape the events surrounding the tragedy. In addition, the collection includes the British Parliamentary Papers that offer details of life in Ireland and a first-hand account of the famine through government documents.
